 Josef Laufer (20 April 1891, Prague – 19 October 1966, Prague) was a Czech sports journalist and commentator.

On 3 October 1926, during a football match between S.K. Slavia Prague (where he was also working as a sports official at the time), he became the first European to commentate on a sporting event during a live broadcast; although the first such broadcast had been carried out two years earlier by the boxer Jiří Hoyer, that broadcast was not live but was relayed with a slight delay. During the war, he was persecuted because of his Jewish heritage; he survived thanks to his mixed marriage. Laufer is regarded as a founding figure of Czech radio sports journalism and Czech sports commentary.
