Original textile pennant with one-sided print from the FDGB Pokal (East German Cup) DDR final held in Berlin on 28 May 1984, where the teams BFC Dynamo versus Dynamo Dresden competed. The FDGB Pokal was the prestigious cup competition of the DDR and the final was always a major football event. The flag documents an important moment in East German football and represents a rare piece of memorabilia from the era of socialist sport. The FDGB (Freier Deutscher Gewerkschaftsbund) was the main trade union of the DDR, which also sponsored sporting events.
