Historic issue of Věstník sokolský (Sokol Herald) number 8 from February 23, 1938, volume IL (49), containing pages 89-100, with main theme "Sokol Health Resort in Polom". Věstník sokolský was the official periodical press organ of the Czechoslovak Sokol Organization and important source of information for Sokols. The February 1938 edition comes from a dramatic period of growing tension in Europe and the pre-Munich crisis. The Sokol health resort in Polom was one of the recreational and health facilities of the Sokol movement where members could restore their strength. Polom is a village in Rakovník district in central Bohemia. Sokol health resorts represented an important part of health and wellness care for members. The year 1938 was a pivotal year for Czechoslovakia and every magazine issue from this period has historical value.
