This publication came out after the Czechoslovak Spartakiad 1980, one of the largest physical education displays in Czechoslovak history. Spartakiads were mass physical education events held every five years, where up to 200,000 exercisers performed at Strahov. Movement for Health - Be Fit was a campaign aimed at maintaining interest in regular exercise and physical education even after the Spartakiad ended. Post-Spartakiad activity was meant to ensure that citizens would continue regular exercise. The year 1980 was significant for Czechoslovak physical education and sports.
