Expert note – FAQ

What is the Prague derby?
The Prague derby, known as the S-ko, is the clash between Slavia and Sparta, the oldest and most prestigious rivalry in Czech football. The two clubs first met as early as 1896. Tickets, programmes and scarves from the derby are among the most sought-after items of Czech football memorabilia.

Why did Slavia play home matches at Strahov?
Slavia Prague played home matches at the Evžen Rošický Stadium at Strahov while a new arena was being built on the site of the old Eden stadium. The club moved into the new Eden in 2008. Tickets from the Strahov period document this transitional era in the club’s history.

What is a complimentary ticket?
A complimentary ticket was not sold to the public but given free as an invitation to club guests, partners, officials or journalists. It was therefore issued in smaller numbers than ordinary tickets. An untorn complimentary derby ticket is an interesting and less common piece for collectors.
