Expert note – FAQ

What is the Reebok Stadium in Bolton?
The Reebok Stadium is a football stadium in Horwich near Bolton, Greater Manchester, opened in 1997 as the home of Bolton Wanderers. It holds over 28,000 spectators. It was later called the Macron Stadium and the University of Bolton Stadium, and since 2023 has been the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

Why collect stadium postcards with an earlier name?
Postcards showing a stadium under an earlier sponsored name document a specific period of its history. When a stadium is renamed several times, as in Bolton, cards bearing the original Reebok Stadium name become a sought-after record of the era when the club played under that name.

What is the V.I.P. postcard series?
The V.I.P. series is a range of stadium postcards published in Spain in limited runs, here just 100 copies, featuring photos of grounds from many countries. The small print run stated on the reverse makes them a popular target for groundhoppers and stadium postcard collectors.
