Golden helmet: Pardubice motorcycle phenomenon
The Golden Helmet in Pardubice is one of the most prestigious and oldest motorcycle races in the Czech Republic. Since its foundation in 1929, this race has made a name for itself not only in the Czech Republic but also in the international motorcycle world. The race was originally founded as part of the Pardubice Fair and quickly gained popularity thanks to its exciting races and high level of riders. Although the race was interrupted several times due to war and political changes, it always managed to come back stronger and more popular. The Golden Helmet races are known for their unique oval, which offers riders challenges not seen at regular motorcycle races. As a result, legends are born here and unforgettable racing moments are created.
Rare commemorative postcard from the XI. Golden Helmet of Czechoslovakia held on September 4, 1949, at the Pardubice racetrack, featuring a special postmark "Pardubice - závodiště" (Pardubice - racetrack). The postcard is addressed but unused. The Golden Helmet was and remains the most prestigious motorcycle race in Czechoslovakia and later in the Czech Republic, held in Pardubice since 1929. The XI. edition from 1949 took place in the post-war period when motorcycle sport in Czechoslovakia was being revived. The commemorative postmark and addressing increases the philatelic value of this memorabilia. A unique piece for collectors of motorcycle memorabilia, Golden Helmet fans, or lovers of Czechoslovak motorsport.
