Historic issue of Sokol youth newspaper "Vzkříšení, Sokol" (Resurrection, Sokol) number 1 from 1931, volume XVII (17), containing 16 pages of information and articles for young Sokols. "Vzkříšení" was a periodical intended for youth members of the Sokol movement in Czechoslovakia. The year 1931 falls into the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic when the Sokol movement was in full bloom. Volume XVII suggests these newspapers had been published since 1915 or earlier, probably with interruption during World War I. The newspaper contained articles about exercise, patriotic texts, news from Sokol units, and motivational materials for youth. Sokol youth was an important part of the organization that educated the young generation in the spirit of physical education and patriotism. The thirties were a significant period for Sokol in preparation for the X. All-Sokol gathering in 1932.
