In addition to traditional sports, the magazine also focused on less traditional sports disciplines. At the time of its greatest popularity, "Start" was one of the most widely read sports magazines in Czechoslovakia. Thanks to its broad scope and quality content, it gained many readers. With the advent of the 1990s and the political and economic changes in the region, the magazine began to face various challenges, including a decline in readership and advertising revenue. As a result, the magazine was discontinued. "Start" was known for its high quality photographs and attractive design, featuring major sporting events and personalities.
