Commemorative blue badge from ČSSR International Table Tennis Championships in Prievidza in 1983, made of enamel and yellow metal with pin soldered perpendicular and bent at 90°. Prievidza is a city in central Slovakia with approximately 45,000 inhabitants, an important industrial center. The year 1983 falls into the period of socialist Czechoslovakia when significant international sporting tournaments were held. Table tennis had a strong tradition in Czechoslovakia and ČSSR was among European elite. International championships attracted top players from socialist countries and the West. The badge is made using traditional enamel technique on yellow metal, blue color is the dominant element. Pin soldered perpendicular and bent at 90° is a typical construction for badges from this era. Prievidza had quality sports facilities for organizing international tournaments.
