Card from prestigious East German edition of Seventh Olympic Winter Games in Cortina d'Ampezzo 1956. Bild 98 from series of 100 images. Card dedicated to three Finnish ski jumpers: Harry Glaß (master of sport - third from left), Antti Hyvärinen (first) and Aulis Kalla-korpi (second). Photograph captures group of athletes in friendly moments just before photographers and reporters surrounded them. Finnish ski jumping was world-famous. VEB Volkskunstverlag Reichenbach - official East German publisher. East German edition number A 246/56. Card is document of Winter Olympic Games and Finnish sports tradition. Combination of group photograph, three Finnish athletes, East German provenance, and detailed description make this card rare. Ideal piece. Valuable artifact.
