As a supplement to the recently released Lesney 4c Triumph T110 and 36b Lambretta models, Lesney introduced the 66b Harley Davidson model in the Matchbox 1-75 series, which, like the other models, was released with a sidecar. It was painted in only one color combination, metallic bronze over the entire surface, including the base plate, which was actually part of the motorcycle casting.
It had 16 x 70 black plastic tires on complex die-cast 9.5 mm wire wheels mounted on arched axles with rounded heads.
There are two known minor casting variations. The first was when a reinforcement strut was added to the rear wheel area of the motorcycle on the inner swing arm. Later, a small triangular reinforcement strut was added to the base plate of the side car, see the pictures below for details. It was sold in only one type of box, namely the D-type box.
