An authentic card from prestigious East German edition of Seventh Olympic Winter Games in Cortina d'Ampezzo 1956. Bild 100 - LAST in series of 100 images. Card dedicated to opening ceremony with flag bearers of 32 nations at closing ceremony. Photograph captures solemn moment when flag bearers of all nations march in. VEB Volkskunstverlag Reichenbach - official East German publisher. East German edition number A 246/56. German text on reverse describes historic importance: Last ceremony ended, flag remains to wave twice more - at Stockholm Olympic Equestrian and in Melbourne Summer Games. Combination of last card in series (number 100), dramatic ceremony, East German provenance, and historic culmination make this card exceptionally rare. Ideal piece. Valuable artifact.
